Owen Davies Memorial Cup Fundraiser

Owen Davies was 30 years old when diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. For over 2 ½ years he bravely fought the disease, and his strength and determination inspired many who had the pleasure of knowing him. Sadly, Owen recently passed from his life in February of this year.

Owen didn’t just “have cancer”. He LIVED his life with cancer and was always planning his next adventure. He taught others how to treat someone with cancer as a person first and not just someone with a disease. He shared his feelings and encouraged others to live their lives to the fullest. He and his wife advocated for the Colon Cancer Coalition and participated in Get Your Rear in Gear in Houston for many years, inspiring others by sharing his story. He has truly been an inspiration to us all.

Owen’s family, friends, and Houston hockey community will be holding the Owen Davies Memorial Cup on April 9th at Memorial City Mall in Houston Texas. Through our efforts, we hope to raise funds to support grassroots sports programs for youth, raise awareness for this terrible disease and assist in the ongoing fight against Cancer while celebrating Owen’s life, the positive impact he made, and his love of hockey.

We have set a fundraising goal of $25,000 to support MLSE Foundation, which will go a long way to helping kids benefit from the game of hockey. Thank you for considering supporting our community and the important work the MLSE Foundation does.

See you on the ice.
